computers, networks, websites, technology
The Electron has an open and comfortable space where you can interact with members and share ideas. We are open minded to and are happy to talk about ideas not only related to computers. We have and do host a variety of projects, meetings, talks, groups from different areas and community interests.
The last thing we would encourage at the Electron is to sit at a computer all day. But if you are using computers it is a good idea to use them sensibly. Learning the basics is good for both the learner and the teacher. The advanced computer user tends to forget how daunting it can be for the beginner, and the beginner can educate the expert to building usable and more understandable systems.
The Bridge network is one such project that is developed at the Electron. (See website for others) We are interersted in encouraging workshops, meetings, talks, activities in any topics you find on the Bridge and Electron site - and are always open to suggestions.
We will eventualy be doing workshops on how to use networks for the beginners, to those more interested in site development - But you don't have to wait for this to happen - you can make it happen yourself. Joining the Electron is simple and it is up to the members to take the initiative.
Pop in for a cup of tea and a chat and watch this space for workshop and open days announcments
